osil.psy.ua.edu/pubs/DareGuadagnoMuscanell_2013.pdfAfter Solar Flare brought up cognitive dissonance the other day on another thread, I googled it because I was not familiar with that term... I came across this article and it truly struck a chord. I think this is the answer i have been looking for, my question being, "how did this happen?" I am by no means, dumb or a door mat, or someone that can easily fit into a quiet traditional "female" role (submissive to husband). So I don't know why I allowed one person into my life to completely tear it apart. It is not like ME, it is not who I am. I also realized after reading this, that I truly thought this was ALL my fault, until last May. (I have been with him for almost 10 years).

I don't know, like they don't see this as abuse or something? It's blatant abuse.

I know. It's the Tools for dealing with PD junk, but it gets really badly twisted over the long haul due to cognitive dissonance. It's a Catch22. Yes, "improves" but...not really. Makes it worse.
